No one is saying you should be devouring food within seconds of waking, but you should eat something so as to give your body the nutrients and energy it needs to get you through the day. Even if that 'something' is small and light on the stomach - such as a yogurt, a milkshake or a smoothie. It is better to have something, anything, for your body to work off than to give it nothing - no gas - at all.
