Stay away from strenuous exercise.

 

Try to eat light foods in Tibet and drink lots of water.

 

Skip alcohol and if you are a smoker then you should avoid smoking.

 

After reaching your destination try to skip shower at least the first 2 days. Otherwise you shall catch cold easily.

You may not feel any sickness just after your journey in train or a plane. But after wandering around you may feel some sickness. You can stay 3-4 days at the same altitude. This will help you to get habituated with high altitude. After this, you can go to a higher altitude – if required.

 

You should carry some important medicines like – Acetazolamide, Nifedipine, Furosemide – get some ideas from your physician. These are very basic medicines for headache, swelling, blood pressure, etc. Do not forget to carry your existing medicines, if you have any.
