Samsung is one of the very old and renowned brands when it comes to electronic appliances. Samsung is already leading the smart phone’s market. Samsung smartphones are among the most popular phones around the globe. With their updated technology, ever so stylish design and durable phones, Samsung is leaving all other Android brands behind.
From the Flagship S series, A series, J series to the oh-so-amazing Note series Samsung smartphones never disappoints its fans. It offers a wide range of phones for the top to bottom everyone depending upon their range, preferences, and choice.
If you also have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone or a phablet then you would like to know some really cool features that are present in your Samsung phone, about which you were maybe or maybe not aware. Before we start sharing these characteristics with you, it should be made clear that these are likely to be present in other Android smartphones as well.
So let’s have a look at them so that you can also make the most of your Samsung smartphone.
Smart Stay
Smart stay is one of the very cool features of Samsung phones. It was first seen in S3 and Android 4.0. What smart stay does is it keeps watching you as long as you are watching on the screen. It also brightens up the screen automatically. The moment you take off your eyes, smart stay dims the screen and your screen goes to sleep. It basically uses the front camera sensors to work.
If you want to turn it on/off then you can do it from the settings. Settings > Display > Smart Stay. (Check to enable or uncheck to disable). Its icon is often there on the notification panel as well.
Motions & Gestures
Samsung uses gestures and motions to perform certain functions.
- For direct calling, you can call that particular contact if his/her contact details, call logs or messages are opened by just bring your phone near to your ears.
- Similarly, whenever there is a missed call or a message that you had overlooked, your phone will vibrate as you pick it up or take it in your hand.
- You can simply swipe your palm from left to right over the screen to take the screenshot.
- Mute an incoming call or alarm by placing your hand over the screen or putting your phone upside down.
Fingerprint Sensor
Fingerprint sensor, the most hyped feature of iPhones is now also coming with Samsung phones. All the new latest Samsung smartphones are having a fingerprint sensor. The position may vary. You may find it either mounted on the home button, side panel or at the back. The fingerprint sensor is certainly known for the increased level of security that it provides.
You can simply activate it from Settings > Lock screen and security > Fingerprint.
Screen Off Memo (For Natural Users Only)
This one is only for all the Note users. When your phone is locked and the screen is turned off you can start writing with your S pen and taking the notes on your Note. It will auto save the typed content as a memo which you can access later whenever you want. And yea, this will also help you in flaunting your S Pen. Isn’t it great?
You can enable/disable screen off memo by going to Settings > S Pen > Screen off memo.
One-Handed Operation
One more tip for all you Note users. Certainly, Note series especially the latest generations are too large to be used by a single hand only. The struggle is real and we feel for you. One handed operation mode will adjust the screen size and layout to let you have more control over the device with just one hand.
If you want to enable this option then go to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > One-handed mode.
Multiple Window
Multi-window is a unique feature which is present in Jellybean 4.1 and above OS systems. It allows you to easily switch from one app to another one without closing the current one as well as working with multiple apps on the active screen. You can always customize the multi-window tray according to your preferences of apps.
To get this feature activated on your Samsung smartphone then go to Settings > Device > Multi window.
Fast Charging
Most of Samsung’s smartphones since Note 4 supports fast charging. Adaptive fast charging is Samsung’s smartest feature to charge a smartphone. It is speedy and also gives a prolong battery life.
Wireless Charging
Wireless charging is the latest technology seen in all the latest and upcoming high-end Samsung smartphones. I think it is the best option for all the lazy people who would not want to get up to charge your phone. Also if you’re somewhere out and running out of the battery, all you have to do is just place your phone intact with a wireless charger and its all set for you.
Floating Messages
Floating or Air message is also one of the latest addition to Samsung smartphone technology. You don’t need to close the app you are using already if there is a new message. Instead, air or float message displays the message in the form of a floating window on the top of the screen. You can directly view the message floating on the screen and even you can reply then and there.
You can enable or disable the option from the settings directly.
Camera Shutter Sound
While taking pictures, there is no defined option to mute the camera sound. There is an option in settings from where you can get rid of this sound completely.
You can enable this by going to Camera Settings > Shutter Sound.
With all these techniques, Samsung has already captured a great customer base and market share. Not only this, in collaboration with some renowned retailers, it is offering discounts and smartphones at a relatively lower price as compared to the market. Like for instance on Telemart Samsung mobiles are available for you at some discounted price. So get your Samsung smartphone now and do what you can’t!
