Changing password in Gmail is easy but it is an altogether different matter than resetting password. To reset password, you first need to provide your authorization for making such change. But to change the password, you only need to login. After logging in, in the settings option, password and any other settings in the account can be changed. However, the reset option is used when the user is unable to login or has some issue logging in. This generally happens when there is a hacking or password forgotten problem.
