Trans fats (often seen on labels as partially hydrogenated vegetable fat): These are evil!!!! They are man made, highly processed and have no nutritional value. (there are tiny amounts of natural trans fats in some food) They increase bad cholesterol and risk of heart disease. These should be avoided at all costs, although the tiny amounts in some animal products are acceptable as they are natural and the quantities are so small.
