About Printing Inks
Printing inks are produced using four essential components:
• Pigments: Impart color to the ink and makes it opaque
• Resins: Bind the ink into a film and to the printed surface
• Solvents: Aids the ink flow so that it can be transferred to the printing surface
• Additives: Alter the physical properties of the ink to suit different applications
