The bismuth subcarbonate is a chemical compound of the bismuth comprising both oxide and carbonate anions. The Bismuth is in the +3 oxidation state. The Bismuth subcarbonate transpires naturally as the mineral bismutite. Its structure comprises of Bi-O layers and CO3 layers and is connected to the kettnerite. It is light-sensitive also.
