Metro PCS subscribers now have a new phone to choose from through the provider. The Alcatel Fierce 4 is available through MetroPCS for $69 with an eligible phone activation or upgrade.

Metro PCS (and T-Mobile sometime later this year), is getting a new, cheaper smartphone for their most budget friendly customers. Fans of the new Alcatel Fierce 4 have that to look forward to in the nearby future as that is coming to the carrier for just $69. Now that $69 price tag comes with a catch, it’s only with an eligible phone activation or upgrade.

The Fierce 4 sports a 5.5-inch, 1280 x 720-pixel resolution IPS screen and is powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor coupled with 16 GB of expandable storage, 2 GB of RAM, and a 2,500 mAh battery. The device has an 8-megapixel main camera which has autofocus, flash, and HDR along with a 5-megapixel front shooter which features an 84-degree wide-angle lens for excellent group selfies. The design of the Fierce 4 features a Gray Rats finish with a silver metallic trim accent, along with a slightly curved back frame which makes it comfortable to carry. The device currently supports 4G LTE and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow however, there is no confirmation if it will upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat when that becomes available in the near future. 

While the Fierce 4 is a bit higher in price than its budget TRU sibling, it offers several comparable upgrades. Some of these upgrades include doubled RAM and storage, a higher-resolution display, and Android 6.0 out of the box. If you’re looking for a device that offers a decent quality and is still budget friendly, you found it with the Alcatel Fierce 4.

The Fierce 4 is available through Metro PCS already and it is currently listed on the website for $119 after a $10 instant rebate. Alcatel’s original announcement mentioned that their new device would be available for $69 provided there was an eligible upgrade or phone activation so you may want to inquire about the price different at your local Metro PCS store to avoid overpaying if you don’t have to. The Fierce 4 is slated to reach T-Mobile customers sometime this Fall but no prices or deals have been announced yet. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
