A forensic science grade enables graduates to examine and solve crimes. It often called 'forensics' – is the collecting of evidence and information of a crime. A forensic expert must also research and current found evidence to others involved in criminal cases, such as detectives and lawyers.
Value of forensic science
Forensic science is progressively trusted upon by law implementation to assist in solving crime and gaining convictions, and by the judicial organization in the adjudication of specific criminal cases. Nevertheless, the value of forensic science comparative to the work involved and the consequence of cases has yet to be well-known in the Australian context. Previous research in this area has basically focused on the science and technology, rather than tentative how people can use forensic services/science to the greatest possible advantage to produce applicable justice outcomes. This 5-year project entails an investigation into the efficiency of forensic science in police market research and court trials. It objects to identify when, where and how it can add value to criminal investigations, court trials and justice outcomes while confirming the efficient use of obtainable resources originally in the Victorian and the ACT criminal justice systems and eventually across Australia and New Zealand. This paper offers a summary of the justification and aims of the research project and discusses current work-in-growth.
