Food Is NOT Your Enemy - Forget all about reducing your carb intake, reducing fats, and of course, reducing calories. What you want to do instead is watch what type of carbs, fats, and calories you are eating. You want the good type of carbohydrates (fiber), the good fats (monounsaturated), and as far as calories are concerned, don't worry about reducing them too much, but just stay away from "empty calories" (junk foods, sugary foods, sodas, etc.). Muscle Is Where It's At! - Another HUGE mistake I made early on was focusing too much on doing aerobic activities instead of focusing on building muscle. Building lean muscle will annihilate body fat (especially the stubborn fat such as that on your belly, love handles, legs, etc.)! The reason why is because building muscle and when your body repairs muscle, you will burn away a lot of calories! This is also another reason why you should avoid reduced-calorie dieting since your body needs a lot of energy in order to build lean muscle tissue.
