From what Ive heard there are a lot of people simply using off the shelf vegetable oil or Canola oil. This makes no sense to me! If youre in between meals then consider almonds cashews pecans walnuts or any raw unsalted nut as your snack of choice as they are all healthy sources of protein.


Let us understand these food groups.  The first food group contains carbohydrates or starch.  This is found in potatoes cereals rice wheat and their products such as pasta and noodles.  This food group constitutes a significant part of what we eat and a diet is healthier if the high fiber variety of carbohydrates is eaten. The second major food group contains proteins.  This is available in all animal products such as meat fish and eggs as well as in pulses (edible seed from pods i.e. peas or beans).  Again eating the low fat variety of proteins makes the diet healthier.
