Struggling in Triumph - Matthew 26:36-46
How often do we just wish we could 'hang' with our best friend for Dream Life Mastery Review the day? That's all we really want to do-just spend time doing anything at all. After all, we're best friends-we have so much in common, so much to talk about. It doesn't really matter what we are doing as long as we are together, right?Who is your best friend? If you are married, the answer should be your spouse! If not, then your best friend might be your brother or sister, but usually it is someone you've known for a long time and you've become comfortable with-you share secrets because you trust each other and you both put up with each other's bad habits. There's nothing like having a friend who sticks closer than a brother!Yet that's what Jesus wants to be to us. How often do we desire to just 'hang' with Him? Besides the fact that we know the answer to that should be all the time, let's think about what it would be like.
He comes to the door and you welcome Him in immediately. It doesn't matter what you are wearing-you're always dressed appropriately for a visit with the Lord, right? You offer Him something to drink. (In our household it would be iced tea.) But you give Him the options. Besides you have nothing in your home that He wouldn't dream of having as a refreshment, right? Of course He is offered the best seat in the house for comfort. But wait, do you need to grab that remote and switch the channel or quickly turn it off because you suddenly realize that our Lord would not ever set His eyes on such a program.
