The report also includes demand drivers affecting the global manganese mining industry, profiles of major manganese producing companies and information on the major active, exploration and development projects by region.
Summary
As the global economic recovery strengthened in 2014, the production of crude steel grew by 1.2% to reach 1.66 billion tonnes in 2014. This led to an increase in global production of manganese ore, which increased from 50.7Mt in 2012 to an estimated 59.2Mt in 2014 according to Timetric. In 2013, China was the largest producer of manganese ore at 23Mt, followed by South Africa (11.02Mt), Australia (7.26Mt), Gabon (4.3Mt), Brazil (2.44Mt) and India (2.05Mt). Of the rest, Ghana accounted for 1.91Mt and Ukraine 1.35Mt.
Scope
The report provides information on the global manganese mining industry together with the key demand drivers affecting the industry. It also provides information about reserves, historic and forecast production and production by country, major exporting and importing countries, competitive landscape and major active, exploration and development projects.
