In 2014 US textile and clothing imports rose in volume terms to a record high. Clothing continued to account for the largest share of total textile and clothing imports and man-made fibre clothing accounted for the largest share of clothing imports for the first time in several years. There was a fall in the average price of US textile and clothing imports but there were increases in the average prices of textile and clothing imports from five of the USA's ten largest supplying countries. In clothing alone, there were increases in the average prices of imports from seven of the ten largest supplying countries. China remained by far the USA's biggest textile and clothing supplier. Furthermore, China's share of imports from all sources was up in volume terms, although it was down in terms of value. Among the other nine supplying countries which ranked among the leading ten, India and Vietnam gained share in value and volume terms, while Honduras and Mexico gained share in value terms but lost share in terms of volume. The remaining five countries lost share in value and volume terms.
