There are four types of diabetes but most people know about two of them. Type I which was previously known as "juvenile diabetes" usually found in younger folks. Another is Type II which we used to call "adult onset diabetes" it is found in people of all ages. Usually as a result of obesity in the body since it cannot produce enough insulin or properly use it. This type of diabetes is treated with daily insulin injections.
Gestational diabetes is one you don't hear about unless you are pregnant. Women can have high blood glucose even if they've never been diabetic before. It can reoccur in future pregnancies and sometimes turn into Type II diabetes after birth.
