The cross was despised as it was associated with sin and death, no one in their right sense of mind then would want to keep a cross in their house, it was unheard of. Yet it took one pure man, who sacrificed everything to be hanged on the cross for a crime He did not commit. He was the Master who was hanged so that we could be cleansed of generational sins. 

Ever since He was hung on the cross, the meaning of the cross has changed significantly. It is no longer a despised piece of wood but an adored emblem of salvation, hanging on many church walls and on many church logos. It is because of the touch of the Master called Jesus Christ that the cross received a new lease of life.
