Recently I visited London. While there I found it very difficult to find good restaurants that cater for those of us who want to stay on a low carbohydrate diet. Of course if you had plenty of time to eat and you had an unlimited budget then you can have whatever you want. I however had limited time to find food and eat and I was on a budget. London is expensive to eat out in, unless you go to fast food outlets like McDonald's.

During my time in London I found an absolute gem of a restaurant called Wagamama. I was very impressed with the food there, it is broadly described as Pan Asian food but I understand it is modeled on the noodle bars found in Japan. Whilst eating the food I realized these dishes could easily be converted to meals suitable for a low carbohydrate diet.

At the restaurant I ate ramen noodles with chicken. This came in a huge bowl containing loads of a tasty broth with noodles and Asian vegetables floating in it and the chicken was shredded and put on top of the broth and vegetable mixture. You are given a pair of chopsticks to eat it with together with a kind of wooden ladle to scoop up the broth, and it's all rather delicious and very filling.
