Projoint Plus Review

Ice and compression have been around for centuries.    Projoint Plus Review One of the first things a doctor will tell you to do for a sprain is R.I.C.E (rest, ice, compression, and elevation). When there is trauma to a muscle, tendon, or ligament, there is inflammation.

The best way to reduce the inflammation is through ice application. Cold therapy constricts the blood flow to the injured area, which is what is causing the swelling. The compression creates pressure to the injured area which promotes blood flow back toward the heart and this in turn helps to flush the lactic acid and toxins out of the body to facilitate healing. There are a number of different products on the market that assist in this technology. Unfortunately, most of them are difficult to use. Some require coolers with hoses and velcro straps. Other methods are cumbersome and not very practical.

Any physical therapist would agree that hot and cold therapy has to be easy for the patient or they simply won't do it. Most athletes are really good at following a training schedule, but when it comes to being compliant some athletes lack the discipline and don't realize the importance of recovering from hard training efforts. Consequently there is usually delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and their performance suffers as a result.
