Rohit Sharma bagged a lot of trophies in the past matches

During the semi-finals match between India and New Zealand, the Indian cricket team relied too much on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Both of them did a great performance on the match despite being crashed out. Recently, there had been reports of BCCI considering a split captaincy between Kohli and Rohit. But, Rohit Sharma is a readymade pick for the selectors to be the captain for ODI and T20I.

So why should Rohit be a captain for ODI and T20I? Here are the factors that make him deserving of the position.

First, Rohit has an impressive record in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is the captain of the team, Mumbai Indians. He stood out as the best players who led the team to four titles in the Twenty20 League.

In 2018, Rohit Sharma played an important part in winning the Nidahas Trophy final against Bangladesh, as well as the Asia Cup. He became the tenth batsman to score 7,000 runs in T20s. During these times, Sharma’s impressive abilities and immense skills showed that is able to lead the team.

He has a different discipline of leading and has patience in times of pressure. Obviously, he has the skills of a leader who can empower his players and lead them to the finals. He also knows how to appreciate his team members to credit them for their effort. In short, Rohit has the potential of being a captain.

The matter of the split captaincy may be crucial for Kohli because he also made a brilliant performance at the World Cup. The BCCI is worried about the reports of a rift between Rohit and Kohli.

The Indian Cricket team will tour the West Indies, scheduled on August 3 at Lauderhill, Florida with the Twenty20 International (T20I) series. For more updates on India cricket, you can read cricket news at Betwala. Check out the livescore that features real-time cricket score.
