M. Night Shyamalan's The Visit is this fact coming year's Babadook
This weekend, I watched The Visit. I didn't mean to, exactly — my girlfriend's teen sister was that has a birthday, so we took her plus a couple of friends up to celebrate. Said teens really, really wanted to examine The Visit, so there I was, actually paying money to find out a new M. Night Shyamalan MapleStory 2 Mesos movie. I thought it could be almost terrible, like a great number of with the once-hailed director's other modern efforts — the barely passable silliness of The Village, the unwatchable Lady inside Water, the laughable The Happening.
But no. The Visit came far from nowhere, and it also made me scream and cling with the edge of my seat like nothing else horror movie in recent memory. Except for The Babadook a little while ago.
Family drama
Let me first are convinced that The Visit isn't on quite exactly the same level as The Babadook. Last year's film of any frazzled single mother, her difficult young son and Buy MapleStory 2 Mesos also the horrible monster they unleash as long as they read a creepy book is a quiet masterpiece of latest horror. It's worth watching again with regards to The Visit, and I'm gonna return with it several times during this piece. Both movies trade common trope-y monsters for much more mundane (and effective) domestic terrors.
