CEO of video gaming maker Nexon flags the 'single most essential idea' as part of his industry
Having movie-like graphics and big story lines matter lots, but making games that keep players engaged for decades is a lot more important, according for the chief executive of the Japan-based company which enables online and mobile games.
Online game communities MapleStory 2 Mesos resemble a software-as-a-service businesses, where people pay to carry on playing video games as time passes, Owen Mahoney, CEO of Nexon, told CNBC in the Credit Suisse Asian Investment Conference in Hong Kong.

"It's an annuity type business, where people just revisit because they wish to participate in their video game world for the very long time, and that is really Buy MapleStory 2 Mesos a very disruptive theme from the video games industry," he stated. Nexon built its business on that concept, and Nexon noticed that other companies like Tencent, Blizzard and Valve also adopted the approach in early stages.
