There are many different types of moles found on different locations of the body. Facial moles, moles that have hair or hairs, moles that appear flat. One of the main causes for the malignant moles are over exposure to the sun. Those exposed to extended doses of direct sunlight, especially between the hours of 10am to 4pm, are prone to this. You should see your physician who will more than likely refer you to a dermatologist. The dermatologist will take a small tissue sample of the skin around the mole which will then be examined by a pathologist, who will give the prognosis if the mole is indeed malignant, and thus need to be removed.
