Using a yoga in Clontarf strap is an excellent way of getting some self-help when practising yoga. Irrespective of your level of yoga experience, the yoga strap can provide you with useful help on alignment, support and posture. You should always avoid being too excited when using the strap and try to pull up into postures with a lot of force. You should always pay attention to your body as you use straps and allow your body to open up in its comfortable pace.

The side stretch

To stretch your shoulders, arms and the sides of your body, you have to hold your strap a little bit wider than your shoulder width. Sway your strap slowly from one side to the other side while you open and stretch your shoulders and your sides.

Opening your shoulders

To open up your shoulders, hold your strap a little bit wider than your shoulders. Slowly bring your arms toward the front and ensure that the arms are straight. Slowly back up again as you continue behind you. Repeat the process to open up your shoulders and always ensure that the movement is comfortable. Your hands should be kept wide enough on the strap and try not to force your arms behind until you feel uncomfortable.

Seated forward bend

If you want to open up your hamstrings during yoga lessons in Clontarf, put the middle of your strap around the ball of your feet and hold on to the strap’s ends with your hands. Slowly straighten your legs. Maintain space between your navel and your pubic bone and do not round your lower back. Pull yourself forward in a gentle manner.

Bound angle pose

If you want to stretch your hips and your inner thighs then you should come to the bound angle pose. Take your strap and make a loop from it then place it around the sacrum under the feet. Your legs will be closer to your body if the strap is tight. You can also allow your hips to open when lying on the ground.

Reclining leg stretch

Begin by lying on the ground. Lift one leg and place the middle of your strap on the ball of the foot. Your foot should be lifted towards the ceiling as you straighten your leg slowly. Make sure that your elbows are on the floor and your shoulders are not under any strain.

Extended hand to the big toe

Take your strap and make a loop on the end and then place your foot into the loop. Hold on the strap as you lift up the knee. Make sure it is the same side hand. Straighten your leg slowly and use your hands to get into the correct pose. When you are comfortable, release your opposite hand to the waist and hold on the strap with the other hand.

Dancer’s pose

While practising yoga Clontarf, make a loop on the end of your strap and put your foot in the loop. Make sure you stand close to a wall to avoid falling. Bring your hands up as you hold the other end of your strap. Point your elbows to the sky and press onto your strap then start walking your hands along your strap as you make it shorter.
