The fuel injectors in your vehicle are mainly created so they can spray fuel into the cylinders of your engine. They are combined with air and, further, are compressed before being ignited fully by the spark plug to produce power. 1.     First of all, you need to gather all the required tools:

To test your vehicle’s fuel injector, you first need to gather all the required equipment that would be used for the work. You will need a few tools that you likely have in your home. You’ll also need proper safety gear such as gloves and eye protection, and a foot-long screwdriver or metal rod. Besides these, you’ll also require automotive test lights.

2.     Look for a clicking sound:

Once you’ve gathered all the required equipment, the next step is to start your vehicle’s engine. Take your screwdriver or metal rod and put it on the fuel injector. Lean your head close enough and carefully to the rod so you can hear the vibrations. If the fuel injectors are activating or vibrating then you should be able to hear a clicking sound, and if not, there would be no sound as such.

3.     Turn on the car’s battery:

Next, you should check the vehicle’s electrical connection. Turn off the engine so that it is not running, but the battery is still activating. The lights, radio, and other electric features of your vehicle should be switched on but not the engine.

4.     Make use of the test lights:

You must then connect the clip of the test lights to the negative terminal of your vehicle’s battery. Once done, take the pointed tip of your test light and touch it with a bit of the exposed wire. Doing so will enable the testing light to light up when it is touched with the wire.

5.     Decide - replace or repair:

Once these steps are undertaken, and you’ve determined whether the injectors are working or not, decide if you want to replace or repair them. If you know the process to replace them, perform the process yourself, however, if you don’t know the steps then it would be best if you go to a mechanic.
