Ola and EduKart partner to facilitate access to quality higher education for driver families

Education and Training

Ola, India’s leading mobile app for personal transportation, today announced that it has tied up with EduKart, India’s leading education marketplace to offer access to quality higher education to drivers' family members through its platform. EduKart will provide end-to-end assistance, guidance and also facilitate admissions for drivers and their family members at leading partner colleges.

As an education marketplace, EduKart provides 2500+ credible courses from more than 100 course providers listed on its platform. Some partner institutes on the platform are Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Assam Down Town University, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Annamalai, All India Management Association and many more across the country. This latest initiative is part of Ola’s Gurukul program that was launched recently to provide quality education for the drivers’ school going children. The program has now been broadened to benefit both school going as well as college going family members of drivers on the Ola platform. Ola’s partnership with EduKart is being rolled out for Ola drivers and their families in Delhi and would subsequently be taken to more cities like Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. Ola’s partnership with EduKart will also enable family members of its driver partners to study at reputed public and private institutes and drive towards a brighter future.

Pranay Jivrajka, COO at Ola said, “With Gurukul, we aim to play our part in ensuring more and more children across the country have access to quality school and college education. We have lakhs of driver partners who work with us across 100+ cities today. The objective of Gurukul is to encourage drivers to send their children and family members to study and up-skill themselves and stand on their own feet. If we are able to do that, we think we will be able to make a significant contribution to India’s future as well as to the lives of our driver partners. We hope more and more drivers on our platform avail this opportunity.”

Ishan Gupta, CEO EduKart said, “We are happy to see Ola’s commitment towards holistic development of its drivers' community. Through its marketplace platform, EduKart is very uniquely positioned in the education landscape to provide access to many high-quality formal and non-formal education programs for the children and family members of the drivers. Our team will provide all possible assistance that students would need to make the best use of this fantastic opportunity being provided to them by the Ola & EduKart partnership."

The tie-up will ensure complete assistance to each student across steps involved to ensure successful enrolment and completion of a course of choice. Assistance and counseling would be offered by admission experts to students and any problem that students may face throughout their study period at a university would be catered to.

Depending on the type of course that the student enrols in, EduKart will offer support services post enrollment as well. This will include support in terms of filling admissions forms, assistance in documentation collection, attestation and submission, scholarship awards, etc. Additionally, students will also get access to other special features like career building webinars and EduKart’s referral program.

This is an addition in the series of dedicated programs rolled out by Ola for their large pool of associated driver-partners catering to skill development for drivers and their families, medical insurance for drivers and their families and other Reward & Recognition initiatives.
