How to excel in your board exams?

Education and Training

Board examinations are supposed to be the exams that are the most important in a student's life. Be it the class 12 board exams or the 10th, parents and students are both equally worried about the exam preparation. More than anything, mathematics is one subject that gives a feeling of dread to students when they see class 10 maths worksheets. Maths is that one subject that so many students fail in. Let's see how one can avoid that and score well in Mathematics.

Tips to do well in your exam:

  1. Everything is about practice. Maths is a subject that needs a lot of hard work in terms of practice. The harder you work the more marks you will score. Get yourself as many practice books as possible and go ahead and solve them all. In this process, you will come to cross numerous difficulties and doubts which you can solve with the help of your teachers. By practicing these skills you can build problem-solving skills and a lot of confidence.

  2. Mugging up is of no help at all. A lot of students out there look at mugging up as the end of all mathematics solutions. It is important to know that mathematics is not all about mugging up math problems and getting solutions. It is all about understanding. You need to understand the basics before you start solving difficult problems.

  3. Always have mastery over different formulas. In mathematics when you face a question that's difficult, it is the formulas that save you. Applying the right formula means half the problem solved. Again, when you have mastery over formulas it means your fundamentals and your basics are clear. To get to that point, you need constant revision.

  4. Always solve the past year's question papers. This process will aid your revision and boost up your confidence that will help you go through the blueprint of the paper in general. This further helps you to take the main examination with a lot of confidence.

  5. Give a lot of importance to chapters that you think are 'weighty'. It is very tempting though to avoid chapters that are difficult for you, but those are the topics that you must cover the first thing. In mathematics papers, some chapters carry more weightage of marks which means that you most allot more effort and time towards the revision and preparation if these sections.

  6. It is imperative to study in groups. In case you are weak in mathematics then you must take help from those classmates that are strong in the subject at hand. Get together as a group and solve these problems together. That way you will feel all the more comfortable to be able to ask numerous questions in a group and then get them solved.

  7. Learn to manage time during the examination. Once you start practicing mock questions and class 10 maths CBSE worksheets on a daily basis, you will get a hang of the topics and you will be able to complete the paper on or before time. Don't indulge in time-wasting tactics and revise all your formulas well, a day before.
