As a devout Jewess, I'm sure she must have been devastated. Her hopes and dreams for a godly man to love her and a family to bring joy to their lives were gone forever, disappearing in one horrible moment at the whim of her sovereign. Now she could only look forward to a life of serving the needs of her king and being one of many in his life and arms. She would be isolated from the world around her and her family and friends of old taken from her forever. The lot she would be forced to endure must have made little sense in the light of her devotion to and trust in the God she served. It must have seemed like even He was not able to save her, that He had chosen to forsake her in her time of need. What she did not know was that her God had a plan, a plan to use this humble woman to bring about the salvation of her people in a time such as this.
