This have been a common challenge among customers all over and even among painters – it takes a high level of skill set and observation to be able to reach a common ground on what paint colors to be selected. We could advise you on the perfect color schemes suitable for the setting of your home to help you reach a common ground. Remember your satisfaction is our utmost concern.

There are couple of factors to be considered before applying paint on the wall – that will most likely guide your decision on the perfect color scheme for your home. They are as follows:

1. Lighting

The sync between color and lighting should be on your type priority to be considered before painting. Colors and lighting work in sync, the right blend of colors with the lighting of the room is one sure means of creating a masterpiece. There is the  artificial light and natural light.

  • Natural light – this is the base lighting of a room. The natural lighting vary across different places – the propensity to the sun, the color of the surrounding environment and how it influence the lighting; a house surrounded with trees could give the room a green ambience. So one can select wall colors that complements with that lighting
  • Artificial light – This lighting obviously doesn’t come natural. They bring life and clarity to the natural lighting. Commonly two types of bulbs known as Halogen and Fluorescent light are used. Halogen bulbs give white light colors to make the painting more intense while Fluorescent are more cooler and warmer to the environment.
  •
  • 2. The Furniture and other household accessories

Considering the color and texture of the furniture and other household accessories – Curtains etc. If you have it mind to pick bright colors for your wall, it makes more sense to pick a more laid back color your furniture and other household accessories and vice versa. You could also pair complementary colors – that is colors that have similar hues – of the household accessories to your wall. The goal is for both colors to complement each other with finesse.

3. Proportion

Understand that too much of everything can be detrimental is really crucial. There is a fine line between a fine paint job and a really whack one. Proportion matters. You should always find a way to create a balance and flow. For instance, you can’t have too much patterns on your wall and expect it not to look too dramatic and most likely chaotic. So it is better the pattern is done in strategic points and finely blended with some really cool colors that will tone it down a bit.

4. Mood

How your color scheme makes you feel is crucial. Yes, colors could influence your mood. A fine blend of bright color could breed hope and sometimes be a source of inspiration. You call the shots anyway, choose what works better for you.

Like I said earlier, painting is not really easy peasy as conceived by many. I hope you get the point now. You might not have the time to go through the rigors of selecting a color scheme, that’s why we, Brushwork Painters, are here to take the load off you.
