Onions

- Varieties: Red – Golden

Red Onions Red onions, sometimes called purple onions, are cultivated of the onion with purplish red skin and white flesh tinged with red.

These onions tend to be medium to large size and have mild to sweet flavor. They are often consumed raw, grilled or lightly cooked with other foods, or added as color to salads, they tend to lose their redness when cooked.

Red onions are available throughout the year. The red color comes from anthocyanidins such as cyanide in. red onions are high in flavonoids.

Gold Onions

Golden onion is a variety of dry onion with a strong flavor. White inside, its layers of papery skin have a yellow- brown color.

It has a rich onion taste and is fit for food dishes like French onion soup. Onions are typically available throughout the year. This onion is higher in sulfur than the white onion, which gives it a stronger, more complex flavor.

A dozen varieties of golden onions are grown following the time of year, they vary in nutritional content.

Garlic

Varieties: Pink – White - Pink Garlic

Egyptian Pink is a small cloved garlic and is the most pungent variety that we have on offer. A great small to medium sized garlic that has a wonderful flavour and texture. Stores very well if hung in a dark airy place. We love to clean the husks off this garlic and fry the whole clove in a little oil. The whole clove is eaten as a tasty snack. If you like a stronger flavoured garlic then this is the one for you.

- White Garlic

Egyptian White garlic is probably the garlic that you are most familiar with. Lovely white firm cloves with a good garlic flavour. Best planted in very well improved soil it produces very well and also stores well.

Potato varieties differ in shape, color, size, flavor and starch content, there are close to 4000 different varieties of potato around the world, it has been bred into many standard or well-known varieties, each of which has particular agricultural or culinary attributes. Varieties: Spunta, Bellini, Mondial, Annabelle, Care, Herms & Lady Rosetta.
