RuneScape Halloween events are coming to both new and old school flavors of the sandbox MMORPG, with unique and properly spooky events for players of either title.

For players of RuneScape's more modern version, you get the Ghost Stories of Gielinor event, a series of tales written both by RuneScape's devs and players. Players can kick off their ghost story adventure by speaking with the mysterious NPC known simply as Closure. Each completed tale brings a new page collected to a tome, along with a new headless rider cosmetic outfit.

Old School RuneScape players will have to survive the onslaught of the hockey mask-wearing Jonas as he hunts for fresh victims. Participants in OSRS's Halloween event will get to unlock Jonas'mask along with a cosmetic item that turns your avatar's skin into a Zombie Blue color.

RuneScape's developer, Jagex, has announced Halloween events for both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape, along with a new patch, making minor bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. The RuneScape event holds new discoveries to make, while playing through pages of “spooky tales,” whereas in Old School RuneScape you can try to survive a “hockey-mask-like-wearing-killer-stalking Gielnior.”
