In their mission statement they state the why or the purpose in their service or product; the destination or future goals are stated in their vision statement. The mission and vision statement - they are the measurement tools that remain the basis for all strategic plans or actions. Smart companies review and revise these statements if necessary for a successful product or service in the competitive marketplace. Employees understand and support both promoting and good decision-making.
Peter Drucker tells us that management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things. Leadership provides the course but also gives management the right tools to steer by. Mission and vision statements are a great measurement tool to use to help guide you and your business to stay on course with its true purpose and desired future.
