Gawish Import & Export Inc. is an Alexandrian family business proudly serving the Egyptian market for nearly four decades. Gawish traces its roots back to 1974, when Mahmoud Gawish founded the group in Alexandria, Egypt. The company’s commercial activities focus on importing, distributing and selling chemical raw materials and industrial chemicals for a wide range of applications in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and manufacturing industries. We are also exporters of essential vegetable oils.

During the 1980’s and 1990’s, the company’s activities were growing and diversifying rapidly. Mohamed Gawish predecessor of Mahmoud Gawish further expanded the company's business scope by operating as sole agents for leading chemical suppliers in the UK, Europe, US and Canada. As a result, Gawish Import & Export Inc. gained regional and international acknowledgment and recognition for its vast network of suppliers and wide spectrum of clients that are uniquely served with our client focused approach of ‘putting the client first’.

Gawish realised the strategic importance of providing industrial chemical products and services to clients as an alternative method to importation that was both feasible and efficient.  In order to meet clients' needs, address market requirements and implement our client focused approach; Gawish introduced several specialist chemical products to smaller clients, which are now supplied directly via our warehouses in Alexandria.
